Obituary of Steve Siertsema

Passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family at Rotary Hospice in Stratford at the age of 59.

Adoring Dad to Ainsleigh Siertsema.

Loving son to Doreen and the late Murray Siertsema (2016).

Cherished brother to Bert (Betty Ann) Siertsema, Mike (Deb) Siertsema, Anita (Mike) Langdon and Yolanda Culbert.

Missed by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Steve was a selfless person, who showed generosity and encouragement to everyone he knew.  No one was ever a stranger to Steve; he was kind and compassionate.  He loved his family and was always interested and involved in their lives.

Steve loved to work, either laying brick, driving truck, milking the cows or working at the feedmill; he always had a smile on his face. He loved sports, he had a great excitement for the game and played hockey and baseball and enjoyed watching the NASCAR races. (as well as American Pickers and Counting Cars). He loved going to church and his church family.  He loved his Timmy’s coffee.  He loved his truck and enjoyed going for drives for as long as he could.

He fought a very brave battle with his cancer always keeping a sense of humour and humbleness about him.  He will be missed very dearly by everyone whom he touched.

Visitation will take place at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, January 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with funeral service to follow on Friday, January 28th at 11 am.

If you are feeling ill please do not attend the service. Please wear a mask and social distance.
