Our sincerest condolences to Doreen and all the Siertsema family. We would often see Steve in the Monkton diner and he was always the most friendly and kind person. Always had time for a chat. Our hearts go out to you.

My condolences to all the family. Praying for God's comfort for you during this time. I started working at WFS Monkton this past July just a few months before Steve was no longer able to come to work. In those few times I saw him and got to talk to him, his love for people always struck me. He always made me feel special, and he thought it was cool that his cousin was my uncle and that he grew up with my dad. Steve always asked how my dad was doing even though he hadn't seen him in years. His cheerful personality is and will be missed here at WFS.

Steve was a stand up guy. As a co-worker, every time I walked into our Monkton location, Steve greeted me with a warm smile and welcome. He genuinely cared about the people in his life, including his coworkers. You knew when you were talking, he was listening intently. It was admirable that he never let his cancer diagnosis get him down. He fought a brave fight with so much dignity. Everyone at WFS Monkton will greatly miss Steve. Sending my deepest condolences to all of Steve's family.

Steve was a wonderful person to know and to work with. He was always very funny and cheerful. As far as Steve was concerned every day was a great day. When he received his diagnosis it troubled him but it didn't slow him down. I remember his last trip to Florida and how he planned to go back once he got a break in his chemo. He was an incredibly important member of the Monkton team and when he had breaks in his treatment you could find him at the mill with the guys. We have lost someone who was incredibly special to us all. Ainsleigh please know that your father was an incredible man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I was a childhood friend of Steve's at Clinton Christian back in the day (late 1960s to the mid 1970s). I was so sorry to hear about his passing. Man, too young. Steve was a great guy back in elementary school. Friendly, always smiling. Sounds like he stayed that way his whole life. I'm not surprised. He was genuine, and a good man is gone too soon. Here are a few photos of our class at CDCS from grade 6 and grade 8 and also one picture of our grade 8 trip to Ottawa. Steve is not in it but I always get a chuckle out of seeing our principal at breakfast with a coffee and a dart. Different era for sure, but one that I remember fondly. RIP, Steve.

So sorry for your loss. Memories of times long ago of friendship to my brothers and a place at our dinner table at the Passchier home. Fancy cars in the drive way pickingbup the "Boys". CRC hockey on Saturday nights. The infamous black leather coat with the yellow"B" when they won the league championship. Steve always won with that grin. His presence here on earth will leave an impact. Rest well in Glory Steve!
