Obituary of Mildred Nixon

Millie (Griffith) Nixon, formerly of Fordwich, passed away at the Braemar Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013. Born in Howick Township on April 8th, 1923, Millie was 90 years of age. Millie was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Nixon (September 7, 1996) and will be sadly missed by her sons Norman of Kitchener and Howard of Sault Ste. Marie, her grandsons Matthew and Michael both of Kitchener and her sister Elizabeth McKercher of Listowel. Loving aunt to John and Julie McKercher and Ann and Ron Larsen and great aunt to Jen, Rob, John and Heather. Predeceased by her brother Jack, her daughter in law Sally, her grand nephew Chris, her brother in law Glenn and her parents George Griffith and Ann Hislop. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family an hour prior to a Celebration of Millie's Life being conducted from the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9th at 11:00 AM. Interment of cremated remains to take place in Wroxeter Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
