Humphries: Mrs. Marjory Amelia (nee MacDonald) Surrounded by family at Seaforth Community Hospital on February 2, 2020 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the Late William ‘Bill” Henry Humphries (2013) Loving mother to Roger, Susan & Hugh, Paul, Peggy, Greg & Andrea. Adoring Grandma to Stefan, Terry & Mariel, Cody, Joshua & Jeannelle, Alexandra, Colin. Lovingly remembered by her siblings John and Joyce MacDonald, Donna Hetherington, and Hugh and Bev MacDonald. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Survived by aunt Florence MacDonald. Predeceased by her parents Lewis & Edna MacDonald, husband Bill, sibling Shirley & George Carter, in-laws Mary & Horace Rutledge, Stewart & Mary Humphries and Maurice Hetherington. After Marjory and Bill’s retirement they settled into the roles of grandparents and loving partners celebrating 58 years of marriage. So in lieu of flowers please enjoy some of their favourite things; have a large family dinner, share memories and laughs, go out for ice cream, take a walk or drive in the brilliant colours of the autumn trees; cheer on your family at their sporting events. After attending normal school in Stratford, Marjory began her teaching career at Langside SS#8, a one room school house. She then moved to Walton to teach at the Walton School, SS#11. She met Bill while boarding at his parent’s house, and they were married in 1955. While raising her family she was ‘on call’ to help at the family general store, finishing her career as Postmaster in Walton. One of Marjory’s passions was the Walton Women’s Institute. Marjory joined the Walton WI in 1956 (the year it was formed) and served as FWIO Board Director from 1991-1993. Cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 340 Brussels N0G 1H0 Condolences may be left at riversidefuneralhome.ca Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a private, family graveside service for Marjory & Bill Humphries will take place. The Women's Institute Service and Celebration of Life Service scheduled for May 2nd, 2020 has been cancelled.
