Eckmier: William “Bill” Charles

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Huronlea Home for the Aged in his 90th year.

Loving brother to Isabel Sawchyn, brother-in-law to Jean Eckmier.

Proud Uncle to Nancy & Brent Mills, Paul & Jan Eckmier, Larry Sawchyn, Bradley & Lorraine Eckmier, Gary & Darlene Buchanan, David Eckmier and Bob & Christine Sawchyn.

Great uncle to 17 great nieces and nephews and great great uncle to 2.

Predeceased by brothers Ross, Ronald and sister Marie Buchanan, brother-in-law Delmer Buchanan and Tom Sawchyn, sister-in-law Clara May Eckmier and nephew Calvin Buchanan.

Bill was a proud gardener, his generosity with his produce was well known in the community and no one ever went hungry at a family dinner. He was passionate about the weather and predicting it. He was a walking farmers almanac. Bill was a helpful, kind hearted man who always put others needs before his own.

Friends and family will be received at Riverside Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10th at 1 p.m. for visitation followed by the Funeral Service starting at 2 p.m.

Royal Canadina Legion Service at 12:30 p.m. before visitation.

In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Brussels Branch #218 would be appreciated.
