My sympathy to the family. Bill often talked about sharing produce and cooking for the family. Condolences.
Bill was a great coffee shop buddy of my late husband Charlie Thomas. As I was also a passionate gardener, Bill and I often talked about the best way to do things and who grew the biggest and best.
We shared quite a bit of produce and seeds or transplants over the years. Bill also had feral cats come to his shed and we were looking for one. I promised Bill that I would name it Billie, male or female - maybe after Billie Holliday if a female. Well, there were 6 or 7 of them running around and the only one I could catch was a calico, a female named Billie the cat. Billie is six years old now, terribly spoiled, the biggest wimp EVER, fat as mud, but a ton of affection. Thank you Bill for all the good memories and for Billie the cat.
