We were very sorry to hear of Ken's passing. Our condolences to you Laura and your family. Ken will always be remembered for his joy in music and sports and, of course, his family. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. Hold on to the good memories and share them with family and friends. It is one way of keeping them with us, if only in spirit.

Dear Scott Family,
It has been a number of years since I have since Mr. Scott. He was my principal at Brussels Public School for my entire Kindergarten through Grade 8. I dan still remember Mr. Scott leading assemblies, teaching PE and math. Once when we were mis-behaving in the hall waiting to go outside he made us go back to our desk and when we could add up 1-100 correctly we could go outside again.
I don't remember any particular lessons but I do remember how he made school a fun place to be. We would have speed math and I enjoyed seeing how fast I could do math facts. He also led the lunch time sports leagues of soccer, volleyball, floor hockey and softball. After school he would let us play ping pong sometimes and I enjoyed playing against him.
I have to admit I was a little nervous when my parents invited Mr. Scott and his family over for my supper. I didn't now what to think seeing my principal outside of school.
As a teacher myself now for 22 years, I have to pay tribute to Mr. Scott as a person who had a very positive impact on my education career and how I want to relate to students.
Sincerely
Gary Martin

Dear Laura and Family,
Ken was a great guy who enjoyed a good time. We had many wonderful times together as The Principal's Group. For our meetings sometimes Ken would arrive late or just on time so he would be called The Late Mr. Scott. At our social gatherings he and Bruce would always have their guitars and the playing and singing would go on for hours. There may even have been the odd drink! There are a great many wonderful memories indeed.
Now that Ken is the late Mr. Scott, we wish to send you our condolences. We would love to be with you to help celebrate his life, however, we are closing our cottage for the season that weekend with grandchildren and others scheduled to come and help.
We send you our love.

I want to offer my sincere condolences to Ken's family, comprised of many good and kind people, who I came to know and love over many years. I remember Ken back in the day when he was a young educator with boyish charm, which he never outgrew over the years. His niece JoAnn and I were bosom buddies and we would often visit Uncle Ken. He always made time for us and made us feel like we were the only people he was hoping to see that day. That's the kind of person that he was. He was such a fun-loving person, so likable and sweet-hearted, soft-spoken by nature; but so gregarious, wise, outgoing and fearless in his day-to-day living. He was never afraid to share his thoughts, his ponderings and wisdom every day of his life. He was a teacher at Hullett Central School back in the day when that school was young and getting started. He agreed to stay after school-hours and give me Guitar Lessons, which I felt so grateful to receive. He was the nicest mentor any young student could ever wish for and, he taught me how to play guitar, very well I must say. So encouraging and kind, he told me early on that I was really coming along with it, even when I honestly didn't think so. But that kind of encouragement is what we all need to forge on and keep working at it. Over the years, he and Laura have created a great life together, having raised a beautiful, brilliant family together and later on, lovely grandchildren into the fold as well. I call that success. So many irons in-the-fire, Ken juggled it all...he found his way and never forgot people that needed his friendship and his ability to entertain and connect people in a meaningful way. Ken was and is an inspiring person, unforgettable on so many levels. He will be so sorrily missed, but forever in so many hearts, for what he gave to everyone he met during his time here on earth. God Bless you Ken, my dearly departed mentor and friend. Gloria Westerhout

Deepest condolences to Laura and the extended Scott family on the passing of your beloved Ken.
Ken was a leader, a voice of reason, in whatever endeavour that he undertook whether it was his teaching, as school principal, his band or in his sports. Highly respected by all who were fortunate enough to meet him. I remember Ken at my parents’ household parties after weekend dances in the ‘70’s … always friendly and easy to strike up a conversation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Ken will never be forgotten.
Sincerest sympathy,
