Obituary of Femmy van Amersfoort

Went home to glory on Sunday, December 19th at Braemar Nursing Home in her 97th year.

Beloved Mother to Helen Hummel (Boven), Herb & Joanne van Amersfoort, Hillie van Amersfoort and Stephanie & Frank Zoer.

Proud Opoe to Michael (Shirley Ann) Boven, Laurie (Richard) Wilts, Casey (Melissa) Boven, Kelly (Brette) Boven, April (Josh) Tuninga, Jeremy (Mariet) van Amersfoort, Steven (Denise) van Amersfoort, Kerissa (Nate) Beach, Greg (Kim) Blok, Telly and Krystle Zoer.

Step Opoe to Kelly (Dan) Kiss, Rick (Stacy) Hummel.

Great Opoe to 32 great grandchildren.

Sister to Harm (Sharon) Thalen, sisters-in-law Tinie and Joanne Thalen.

Predeceased by her husband Casey (1992), son-in-law Albert Boven (1989), son-in-law Henry Hummel (2009), granddaughter Pauline (2020), sister, brothers, and in-laws.

Missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Holland.

Femmy was a devoted wife and her family always came first. She was dedicated to her faith and very involved in her church community. She loved to read, knit, crochet, and sew and used her skills as a seamstress throughout her life. She loved to sing, especially in church and was a choir member for many years. Femmy was sweet lady with a kind smile, and she will be missed by many.

Visitation will take place at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday December 22nd at 9:30 am with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Pastor Gary Van Leeuwen officiating.

If you are feeling ill please do not attend the service. Please wear a mask and social distance.

Interment at Blyth Union Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Food Grains Bank, The Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
