Alan Anderson

Obituary of Alan David Anderson

Please share a memory of Alan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

A son, a brother, a friend, a husband, a father and a grandfather. Alan took on each of these roles with pride and love.

He was born in Scarborough on November 15, 1950 to Helen Jean and George William Anderson and passed away quietly, on May 6, 2021 at Huronlea Long Term Care Home with his wife Christine Marshall by his side.

He leaves behind his sister, Lesley Anderson, his sons Dan (Debbie) and Kevin (Brenda), his step-son Brian (Jennifer) McBain and his stepdaughter Lauren (Mark) Binette and grandchildren Ashley, Owen  and Erin Anderson, Kenzie McBain, Sarah, Madeleine and Kaitlin Binette.

Alan had many passions throughout his well lived life. He adored and owned many German Shepherds through the years. As a child and later as a father, the cottage at Three Mile Lake was home to him on weekends and in the summer months. An avid snowmobiler, he had many adventures with his boys when they hit the trails in the winter months.

Travelling with a camper trailer throughout North America consumed many summer vacations with family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed several cruises and a very special trip to Scotland to search for his family roots.

He realized many wishes after moving to Bluevale, where he planted and harvested his largest ever vegetable garden, raised chickens and rabbits.

He enjoyed discussing farming, cutting wood, and talking cars with the many new friends that he had made in the area.

As a licensed truck mechanic, Alan was a “fix it” man who could repair almost anything and loved to get involved in home renovations.

He will be missed by many. Rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations, in Alan’s name, to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the German Shepherd Rehoming and Rehabilitation Centre by etransfer to

inu.goya@outlook.com would be appreciated.
