Obituary of Bryan Lloyd Morton

On the farm that he loved, on April 29th, 2021, Bryan Morton, returned to the dust whence he came and which he deeply loved.

Beloved husband to Floral ’Cookie’ for 19 years.

Proud father to Ann (Darryl) Voskamp, John (Whitney) Morton, Molly (David) Morton-Sydorak & their mother Linda Morton.

Sharing his supportive nature to Cookie's children Kevin (Amanda) Becker, Tracey (Michael) Hertel & Justyn Becker.

Inspiring Grandpa to Caleb, Joshua, Hope, Levi, Malakai, Shalom and Shiloh Voskamp, Stephen, Michael, Edlynne, Elsie and Peter Morton, Noa, Mya, Lia, Ana, Ema, and Eli Morton-Sydorak, Emily and Jared Hertel, Jackson and Arlo Becker.

Brother to Bonita (Derek) Jefferies, Paul (Carol) Morton, and Janice Morton.

Brother-in-law to Elaine Winter, Eric (Kathie) Huber, Clarine (Paul) Schnurr, Delbert (Vicki) Huber, Wain (Julie) Huber and Chyrille (Paul) Lehman, Liz MacKeand.

Born on a farm outside of Baltimore, ON, March 6, 1949, predeceased by his parents Lloyd George Morton of Newcastle, ON & Barbara Ruth Ellen (Chambers) of Madoc, ON, in-laws of William & Alberta Huber, daughter Aimee Ruth Ellen Morton, and brother-in-law Verdun Huber.

Bryan’s love of windmills symbolized his passion for the harnessing of earth and sky, loved the working of the earth, the harvesting of its bounty, and believed farming was his art and poetry. He took his canvas to town and Brussels Four Winds Barn became his magnum opus that he built with his own two hands.

A man of vision, a man of creativity, a man who was never at a loss for an unconventional idea, his unforgettable, worn hands were a testament to an incredible work ethic, a lifetime of ingenuity, and his deep, deep love and service for his family. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed. 

Due to covid restrictions cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to Canadian Foodgrains Bank or the Brussels Lions Club would be appreciated.
