Hi Don,
We are very sorry to hear of Yvonne’s passing.
I only spent bits and pieces of time with Yvonne over the years and usually when she was with my Mom, Marilyn.
When I think of Yvonne the first thing that comes to mind is her loyalty as a treasured friend to many. Over the years I’ve often heard that the “Grey Girls were getting together”; a testament of enjoying long-standing friendships.
The second thing I remember about Yvonne is laughter. She had a great sense of humour and I know that she and Mom got into shenanigans at times; stories of which would come out in later years adding another round of laughter.
I pray memories such as these will provide you with comfort as you grieve Yvonne’s passing. Know that you, and your family and friends, will be in our thoughts over the next while.
Sincerely,
Becky (and Todd)

Mrs. Martin was a favourite teacher of mine. So organized, thoughtful, creative and caring. She was one of the reasons I pursued teaching as a career. Just before teacher's college, I volunteered at Grey Central under Mrs. Martin's supervision. I laugh now at how she wanted me to call her Yvonne, now that we were "colleagues". She wrote me a wonderful letter of reference to start off my teaching career. I will never forget her positive influence in my life as a student and teacher.
Sincere sympathies to Don and family.

To Don and Yvonne's many friends my sincere sympathy. I was so fortunate to teach next door to Yvonne's classroom and we shared so many "great days at Grey". What a sense of humour and what a work ethic. Yvonne's students benefitted from her teaching and her kindness. Since retiring we have met regularly for "library" meetings where no books were involved but much laughter, many stories, good food and wine, were shared among us. Yvonne loved her community and enjoyed the good rural life of Huron County. I feel grateful to have been a part of her circle and will cherish our times together.

Almost 30 years ago I met a special lady at Grey Central School, Yvonne Martin.
Yvonne was a consummate, forward thinking teacher dedicated to her students and her craft. She deeply cared for students and co-workers alike.
For several years I had the pleasure of team teaching with Yvonne. She was the steading, organizing force in our team, always contemplating my creative ideas and bringing them to fruition with our students.
Thank you Don for your friendship through the years and for sharing your lady with me. Yvonne my 'team mate', trusted co-worker became a dear and treasured friend. She will long remain in memory.
Deepest condolences to you Don and family.
Written with prayerful thought,

DON - this was such a shock to hear of Yvonne's untimely passing.
Yvonne was a vibrant, forward-thinking lady, with whom ever she was in touch or worked with made them feel special and included. She was tireless in her ability to make the Ontario Flying Farmers, as well as the International Flying Farmers - not only part of your lives - but though her many experiences and your fly-in's - invoked interest with these organizations,
The Blyth singers and any other organization she joined - were fortunate to have her many talents.
You will have many memories of your life together, along with your many flying experiences through the years.
Being a Pilot in her own right was a great support to you, with her Navigating and Piloting skills. She will be missed!!
Thinking of you at this time of loss -
Jim & Jane Farrell
