Obituary of Don Dodds

Please share a memory of Don to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed away suddenly at his residence in his 83rd year. Fondly missed by special friend Val Gillies. Loving Dad to Kimberley (Dave) Ross, Jason (Jolene) Dodds, Adel (Jason) Dowson and Greg Dodds. Grandpa to Andrew (Victoria), Brandon, Thorsten (Jessica), Pierce and William. Great Grandpa to Donovan, Daniel, Luna, and Esme. Missed by many nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Earl & Dorothy, brothers Emerson and George and sister Dorothy. Especially missed by his furry friend Bo. Don was a true entrepreneur, he dabbled in everything. He always had great ideas but the wrong timing. He loved making his wine, his horses and especially being out in nature. He loved to hunt and fish and was a mentor to many youths who wanted to pursue becoming outdoorsmen. He was a proud member of the Listowel Gun Club, The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Ducks Unlimited Canada, and The Fur Harvesters Association. He enjoyed training dogs for field trials and produced many field trials champions. He loved all sports, especially baseball and hockey and proudly cheered Greg’s team to victory. Don loved his family in his own special way, and he will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. A private, family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to The Friends of Hullett would be appreciated. Cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 340, Brussels NOG 1H0. Condolences may be left at riversidefuneralhome.ca
