Barbour: Mrs Laura Margaret nee McBurney Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Huron Residential Hospice on Sunday, August 16th in her 89th year. Loving mum to Gary (Gundi), Gail, Cathy (Steve), Laureen and Marc (Tricia). Grandmother to Nick (Cheryl), Lauren (Rhys), Olivia, Jonathan, Erin, Colin and Allyson. Great grandmother to Ellie, Jack, Jackson and Adalyn. Sister to Grant (Mary) McBurney, sister-in-law to Isabel (Earl) Young, Phyllis Holmes. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth (2006), brother Alan and in-laws Helen and Allan. Missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Laura loved to garden. She was a long time member of the horticultural club. She loved to read, you couldn’t keep enough books around to keep her busy. She was a member of the UCW, the Brussels United Church Choir and Morning Star. Laura enjoyed baking and canning and being out on the farm. She loved her family and enjoyed all the visits from grandkids. She was a member of the Birthday Club and enjoyed the dinners at JR’s. She loved her pets including her cats Maggie and Simba. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Laura’s Life will take place at the Brussels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to the Brussels United Church or the Brussels Horticultural Society would be appreciated.
