Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 18th, 2019 at Listowel Memorial Hospital in her 75th year.

Beloved wife to Eric for 56 years.

Proud Mom to Teresa (Herb) Befurt, John Prescott and Diane (Neil) Warwick.

Adoring grandmother to Christina, Ryan (Katelyn), Evan, Jane, Thomas, Megan, Jessica, Rachel and Allison.

Great grandma to Michaela.

Sister to Harry Harkes, Marie Walker, Karen (Wayne) Jackson, Richard, Larry (Liz), and Neil (Terry) Harkes.  Sister -in -law to Carole Harkes, Valerie (Wally) Black, Vernon, Sheila and Jean Prescott.

Missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Mac (Nina) Harkes and in-laws Thomas (Jane) Prescott, sisters Alice and Eleanor and brothers Jim and Kenneth.

Friends and family will be received for visitation at Riverside Funeral Home on Friday, June 21st from 6-9 pm. A Celebration of Vernice’s Life will take place at Riverside Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22nd at 11 am.

Interment in Brussels Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Cards of sympathy may be forwarded to Box 340 Brussels N0G 1H0.
