Rest in piece Don, you deserve it. It is too bad the country is not full of people like you. It was a pleasure to know you and enjoy your smile.

I remember going to Aunt Irene’s as a kid during summer vacation. My bedroom was off the kitchen which is now the bathroom. Every morning I would wake up to the cooing of doves. Don had another hobby before his toys. He had a menagerie of exotic pheasants, geese and birds. Every Sunday people would come by the carload to visit and wander through the pens he had set up for them. Aunt Irene must have had many guest books full of people’s names and addresses.
Later on in life I had the opportunity to visit Don and Cliff with my kids and grandkids. By that time they had started collecting toy tractors. Every one was awestruck by the trailers they had full of their found treasures. Then we had a tour of the antique tractors of which they laughingly said they had to build a driving shed to hold them all. There were also the big signs on the side of the driving shed. It wouldn’t have been a visit to Ontario without a visit with the “Schultz boys” or later on with Don.
Don worked hard all of his life and I am very thankful he and Cliff had the opportunity to explore places and find their treasures.
Rest in peace Don. You will be missed.

My heart is heavy and feel quite sick at the loss of Don Schultz. I have many memories of visits through my entire life of visiting and summer vacations with Great Uncle Reg, Aunt Irene and the Boys. I enjoyed what Don and Cliff were able to do with their collections of tractors and toys.
Visiting Don and Cliff was always interesting and I’m glad that my Grandchildren were able to meet with them, play and review the tractors. From time to time they talk about visiting and playing in the snow at the farm.
Don is the last tie to what I consider the homestead farm. I can now only fashion a similar type of retirement from what they had at the farm. An anvil, hammer and walnuts come to mind and visiting with friends and family.
From a fellow beekeeping family, I say goodbye. My Grandfather was Dalton, my father Lenard who was placed gently in Stratfordville Cemetary 12 years ago and my mother just the past September.
My daughter (Holly) is getting married the same Saturday as the funeral so I will miss visiting with Don’s friends and family. Please stay in touch. We had visited with Cliff and Don to get copies of family photos while Cliff was still with us.
Lay don gently as he is a cherished family member.
