Obituary of Veronica Griffiths
Veronica Griffiths (née Blake) 1926-2018
Veronica passed away peacefully at her home in Guelph in her ninety second year on Sunday May 6th, 2018.
Her memory will be lovingly cherished by Guy, her husband of sixty three years, her six children Peter, Paul, David (Karen), Gregory (Susan), Veronica (Eric) and Edward (Kristen), her thirteen grandchildren and her one great-granddaughter.
Veronica was born in Brussels on her family’s farm on what is now known as St. Michaels Road. She spent a good part of her childhood in St. Augustine (Huron County) with her mother’s family (Kinahan) after her father’s early death. She was a primary school teacher and met her future husband Guy in Goose Bay Labrador during the Korean War. They were married in the old St. Ambrose Church, Brussels, in September 1954. They settled in Montréal and Val-David where they raised their large family. After their retirement, they returned to Ontario, firstly living in Oakville and finally in Guelph.
Family and friends will be received at Riverside Funeral Home for visitation on Saturday, May 12th from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 2 p.m.

Interment at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Red Cross would be greatly appreciated.
