Leona Fern (Stevens) McDonald of Brussels passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Thursday, January 20th, 2011. Born in Seaforth on August 9th, 1930, Leona was in her 81st year. Leona was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Andrew McDonald who predeceased her on February 28th, 1998 and will be sadly missed by her children Neil McDonald of Vancouver, BC, Karin McDonald and her husband Charlie Calhoun of Bayfield and Rick and Jo-Ann McDonald of RR#2 Brussels. Also loved by her grandchildren Michael and Chrissy Warwick of Calgary, Kendra and Louis Gonzalez of Calgary, Lee Ann and Jason Konarski of Seaforth, Kelly and Adam Jarosz of New Hamburg and Scott and Alicia McDonald of Morris Township, her great grandchildren Sydney and Brycen, her sister Margaret Rogerson, her sisters in law Marg Stevens, Marilyn McDonald, brother in law Murray and Betty Crich and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Alberta Stevens, sister Doris Crich, brother Robert, brothers in law Ken Rogerson, Don McDonald and Murray and Mary Huether. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Saturday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted on Sunday, January 23rd at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sandra Cable officiating. Spring interment in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Duff's United Church or Seaforth Community Hospital.
