E. Isobel (MacTavish) Gibson of Brussels passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Born in Wroxeter on April 6, 1919, Isobel was in her 91st year. Isobel was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Patterson Gibson, who predeceased her on January 24, 2007. Dear mother of Mary Douma and her husband Maurice of Morris Township, Don Gibson and his wife Cathy of London, Peter Gibson and his wife Kate of Stratford, and Peggy Aitchison and her husband Bill of Brussels. Loving grandmother to Laura and Jamie Hallahan, Heather and Amy Douma; Mike and Jeff Gibson; Pam, Mark and Scott Gibson; and Kate, Mary Ann and Colleen Aitchison; and great grandmother to Avery and Callum Hallahan. Also loved by her sister Edith McFadzean of Toronto and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother in law Tom McFadzean. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Friday from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 29 at 12 PM officiated by Reverend Cathrine Campbell. Interment in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Huronlea Auxiliary or to Melville Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
