Obituary of Clarence White

Please share a memory of Clarence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clarence White November 3rd, 1926 - August 15th, 2014 A Life Well Lived On August 15th, 2014, with his family by his side, Clarence Eldon White peacefully passed away. Clarence was born in Grey Township and lived most of his life on and around the 5th Concession of Morris Township. His attachment to the area was strengthened because it was there that he met Jane Ovington, his neighbour, friend, sweetheart and eventual wife of nearly 65 years. The two were married on November 19th, 1949, and set about raising their family; a group that has grown to include 7 children, 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Clarence is sadly missed and remembered by his children Sid and Melody White, Judy and Ross Somers, Rick White and Debbie Keffer, Keith White and Jayne Ross, Colleen and Murray McNichol, Susan and Carl Bondi, Brian White and Cathy Goetz and special friends Susan and Paul Heron. Clarence is also remembered by his brother Ken and sister-in-law Dawn, and by his many friends and neighbours from both Morris Township and from his new neighbourhood in Wingham, where they moved in August of 2012. Now reunited with his parents Jack and Mary White, his sister Doris Fischer and her husband Ken, his sister Fern Craven and her husband Dave, his brother Ross White, his brother John in infancy, and his brother Bruce who passed away as a child. Clarence leaves behind a happy and growing family who will always remember his parties at the "Whitehouse," his love of a "good" Irish Whiskey, and most especially, his funny stories of trips taken to the east and west coasts of Canada and to Ireland to visit with new and special friends and relatives. His stories of simple times growing up on the farm, of the fall colours, and his love of a good card game with close friends, will always be remembered by those who knew him best. At Clarence's request, there will be no visitation or public service. A private family memorial will be held, and friends are asked to know that their kind words and gestures have been appreciated. For those who wish, donations to the Wingham and District Hospital would also be appreciated.
