Leslie Groot posted a condolence

George: I can't believe that you are no longer with us, everything happened so fast. You were finally getting the care you deserved and then another obstacle got in your way. I am so very sad that you won't be apart of my life anymore. I valued your friendship so much. You were such a wonderful person who never complained and was always so grateful to everyone who helped in any way to make your daily routine just a little bit easier. You were a great listener, never judgemental, a true friend to many, especially Sandie. I will miss our Friday visits, but will forever be grateful for the past 3 1/2 years of knowing such a caring man. I know how much your children and grandchildren will miss you, but the memories will be with them always. Rest in Peace, my friend, Leslie Groot & family

Jacquie Timmermans and children posted a condolence

To the family and friends of George. I only met George a few times. My mom, Rose, was a volunteer driver for George and on their long days to London they became very close. Myself and my children had the opportunity to go along a few times with my mom and George. He was a special guy and inspiration to us all. After those drives I told my kids that we could learn a lot from George. He had to go to for treatments many times a week and he could not see very well. He was not an old man yet he had many medical problems. Still, in spite of all of George's problems, he smiled, he laughed, he joked and he never complained. He was grateful for the drive and for the company. An inspiration to us all, we must deal with our lives and accept the things we can not change. In the days that followed George's stroke my whole kindergarten class was praying for him. Every day the kids would say, lets pray for that Mitchell guy from Mitchell. Even after I told them of George's death they decided that we should continue to pray. One little girl said that maybe George was in heaven playing cards with Jesus. I told her that indeed George is just the kind of guy that Jesus would want to play card with. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Jacquie Timmermans

The family of Barry Watson,in Tucson AZ. wish to express their sympathy to the family of George Mitchell. I met George in Wroxeter a few years ago while visiting my Mother. I was glad to finally meet him, as he was related to me. Frank and Evelyn used to visit back and forth with my parents, Reg and Georgina Watson, back in the 1950s when we lived on the farm on the 6th of Morris. I used to do electrical work for Aunt Bessie many years ago when I lived in Brussels. I have been living in Tucson Arizona for 37 years now, but do get up to see my Mother Georgina as often as I can. She is 97 now and is in Wingham at the Braemar assisted care home on the North end of Wingham. My father passed away in 1998. i have one brother in florida. (Jim) One brother in Toronto (Bert) and one brother in Kitchener (George, Who goes by Joe) My wife Josie and I have 3 children, Sandra,David and Robert and 2 grand children, all living in Tucson.
